The Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange have announced changes in trading hours between 24th September 2008 and 9th October 2008.

Bombay Stock Exchange will extend trading hours from 24th September 2008 on account of disruption of satellite services due to sun outage, a release from the exchange said here.

According to the release, trading will start as usual at 9.55 am, but will be suspended between 11.25 am and 12.10 pm. The day's session will end at 4.15 pm.

The NSE will open at 9.55 a.m and will remain closed between 11.30-12.05 p.m. It will open again at 12.10 p.m. and close at 4.05 p.m.

There will be another pre-market session between 12.05 p.m. and 12.10 p.m. These changes are on account of the possibility of satellite connectivity being affected by solar activity.
